Redcon1 is revamping the look and packaging of its long-running MRE Protein Shake

Redcon1 Newly Bottled Mre Rtd

While there has been a recent rise in popularity of ready-to-drink protein supplements, it is a space and format the two-time Brand Of The Year Redcon1 has been playing in for many years with its MRE Protein Shake. That is a spin-off of its original MRE and MRE Lite meal replacement and protein powder, with the beverage version taking after MRE Lite, featuring a variety of whole food protein sources and keeping the carbohydrates fairly low.

Here in 2025, Redcon1 is revamped and reworking its MRE Protein Shake, moving away from its long-running 16oz cartons to traditional 14oz plastic bottles. The core purpose of the product will remain the same, providing plenty of protein from non-whey sources at 40g per unit, low carbohydrates, and solid calories. There are many flavors available for the quick and convenient protein drink, and they’re all coming over for the repackaging.

Redcon1 has shown off its revamped MRE Protein Shake in the same six flavors as it had previously for the 16oz carton in Milk Chocolate, Vanilla Milkshake, Cookies & Cream, Blueberry Cobbler, Salted Caramel, and Strawberry Shortcake. The refresh will bring some renewed attention to the whey-free protein beverage, which again has been competing in the category for some time, initially hitting the market over four years ago.
