Real Good Foods is the original, real food functional company, starting from its chicken breast-based pizza all the way to the mountain of delicious innovations it has today that are loaded with protein and low in carbohydrates. One of its most recent hits was the lightly breaded chicken nuggets, which quickly expanded into various flavors of chicken bites, chicken tenders, and chicken burgers, all stacked with protein and minimal carbohydrates.
The thing with original innovators is that they don’t stop; they continue to find new ways and places to create and set themselves apart, and Real Good Foods is about to do just that with an evolution of its lightly breaded chicken nuggets. The brand has announced the launch of a new recipe for that particular product, which keeps pretty much everything the same, from the chicken breast chunks to the whey coating, but removes all seed oils.

You still get that powerhouse nutrition profile Real Good Foods’ Chicken Nuggets are known for at 23g of protein per serving, 4g of net carbohydrates, and around 180 calories. There is a bump in calories as the fat has increased with the product now cooked in 100% pure tallow, but it is only small. Another interesting part about all of this is that Real Good has said this is just the start, as it is making the same shift across all of its functional innovations.
Eventually, Real Good Foods will have no industry seed oils in any of its offerings, and you can get the first taste of that in the refined Lightly Breaded Chicken Nuggets, differentiated with its “No Seed Oils” callout on the front. The brand is putting the product into Sam’s Club this month, which also means it’ll have a solid price for its large 3lb bag.
