Applied fine-tunes its core whey protein now with a higher concentration of protein

Applied Nutrition Revamped Critical Whey

Critical Whey is the signature protein powder from Applied Nutrition, its key competitor in the highly saturated space, relying on high-quality whey to provide the muscle-building macronutrient and ensure great value. The prominent international player has revamped and relaunched the supplement right on the first day of September, and this is a big deal, as mentioned, Critical Whey is Applied’s premier player in the space.

Applied Nutrition hasn’t done a huge amount to the formula of Critical Whey; it still relies on milk and whey to provide a reliable amount of protein, but in this version, the concentration of protein is slightly higher. Instead of 20 to 21g in a serving of 30g, the refined supplement has gone up to 21 to 22g with the carbohydrates at 3.4g, more than half of that sugar, under 2g of fat, and a fair calorie count of around 120.

It is worth noting that on the back of Applied Nutrition’s new Critical Whey you’ll see 24g of protein, although that is based on a serving of 33g. While that is only marginally higher than the original’s 30g, it makes a difference, hence why we compared the products at a serving of 30g. The protein powder is essentially the same as the previous iteration with a better protein-to-calorie ratio, and it has debuted with five more flavors on its menu, including Caramel Latte and an authentic Chiquita Banana Strawberry Smoothie.
