Trader Joe’s makes a delicious stack of pancakes that has 20g of protein and just 220 calories

trader joes protein pancakes

Trader Joe’s has played around with extra protein in products on a few occasions, including the likes of its wholesome Protein Granola and its deliciously smooth and convenient Protein Smoothie. The retailer and brand is doing that again in a completely new format, introducing Trader Joe’s Protein Pancakes. It is made with a pretty clean set of ingredients with cottage cheese, egg whites and whole eggs, oat flour, milk, and cane sugar.

The result of that recipe above is a somewhat balanced nutrition profile with the protein landing at a respectable amount and the carbohydrates right around the same number. Trader Joe’s Protein Pancakes come with a typical 20g of the muscle-building macronutrient in four of the sizeable pancakes, a bit more than that in carbs at 25g, about half of that sugar at 12g, reasonably low fat at 4.5g, and a damn good calorie count of 220.

The nutrition balance of Trader Joe’s Protein Pancakes is actually right on the money of a standard protein bar at 20g of protein to around 220 calories. The difference, of course, is that you get all of that in a stack of four fluffy and sweet pancakes as opposed to a rather dense and doughy bar. Again, the team did a great job, and the price on a single serving pack of four Trader Joe’s Protein Pancakes is more than reasonable at $3.79.
