Musashi’s female-focused brand Athena builds a third protein snack around a wafer base

Athena Wafer Protein Bar

Athena is a colorful female-marketed health and nutrition company from the Australian legacy brand Musashi, that started with a pre-workout, muscle-building creatine, protein powder, and two types of protein bars. The still relatively young and growing line has just welcomed another product to its catalog, and it’s actually similar to two of its others in a protein-packed edible snack, although it differentiates itself by way of the consistency.

Athena’s Wafer Protein Bar features a light and crunchy bar that comes with layers of crispy wafer inside with creamy flavor in between, then wrapped around the outside is a rich and decadent layer of milk chocolate. The nutrition profile on this one starts with a moderate 12g of protein per piece, about half of that in carbohydrates at 6g, a quarter of that sugar, a sizeable 14g of fat, and it is the fat that helps push the calories quite high at 199.

The Wafer Protein Bar will be a nice alternative for fans of Musashi’s Athena brand, giving you a lower level of protein and higher calorie balance, in exchange for a crispier and lighter, but still flavorful eating experience. The functional food is making its way to market in three flavors, one of them traditional in Chocolate, and the other two definitely make things a lot more varied in a dessert-like Salted Caramel and a refreshing Chocolate Mint.
