Ahead takes 4 product ideas from fans and is putting it to a vote on which one it should make

Ahead Nutrition Protein Laugengebäck

There are plenty of functional food companies in Europe, especially Germany, and the majority of them aren’t tied down to one or two formats as you get in other parts of the world. German innovator Ahead Nutrition is a great example of someone who expands its variety as much as possible with products in all sorts of shapes and sizes, with benefits like high protein, minimal carbohydrates, low to no sugar, and guilt-free calories.

Ahead Nutrition is now turning the innovation and decision-making over to the fans for what it is calling the Community Edition. Basically, the brand has taken four product suggestions it has seen in comments, drafted up some concept artwork, and is asking social media to pick which one it should make a reality. There is a Carrot Cake flavor of the Ahead Protein Candy Bar, Low Sugar Butterkeks, Caramel protein Pudding, and Protein Laugengebäck.

The Protein Laugengebäck is the one that caught our attention, as it is not only a ready-to-eat baked good, something you rarely see functional food companies play around with, but it’s a very specific type of treat. Laugengebäck is a bread roll put in a lye solution, a specialty popular in Germany, France, and Switzerland. Of the four, we’d love to see that become a reality, and you can have your say by simply heading to Ahead’s social platforms.
