Tsunami drops a bunch of protein breads, including a burger bun with 19g of protein

Tsunami Nutrition High Protein Bread

Tsunami Nutrition’s extensive and creative functional food side has taken things up a notch this week with an extremely intriguing innovation under its TN Food banner by way of a collection of bakery foods that are packed full of protein. The Italian company has revealed and released a total of three items, including the olive bun-inspired Focaccina Olive, with real olives, the long classic Bauletto to slice up however you like, and last but not least, the classic American Bun, a protein-loaded burger bun.

Each of the new functional products from Tsunami Nutrition has a whole lot more protein than your standard food, lower carbohydrates, and better-for-you calories, all while still providing the softness of smooth texture of bread and buns. The American Bun, for example, weighs in at a heavy 80g per piece and it has a respectable 19g of protein thanks to its infusion of pea and rice protein, with the carbohydrates sitting at just 7.2g, under a gram of that sugar, 12g of fat, and 264 calories.

The protein-to-calorie ratio is not actually all that bad at 19g to 264, along the same lines as an Outright Bar, Anabar, or most of the other nut butter-based protein bars out there. You get a similar nutrition profile in the Focaccina Olive and Bauletto, with 17g of protein in the former and 25g of protein in the latter. They’re a seamless way to bump up your protein intake, as you can throw some meat on there or a nutritious spread to get the balance right, with everything in stock at tsunaminutrition.com.
