The proteinification trend, where major companies and foods are infusing protein into their signature products, has made its way into the coffee specialist Moccona in two separate innovations. The brand is known throughout Australia and New Zealand for its delicious coffee offerings, with a whole host of flavors and varieties to choose from. Two of those options now have spin-offs with a bit of extra protein thrown into the mix.
Moccona has introduced Latte +Protein and Caramel Latte +Protein, which are indeed its regular Latte and Caramel Latte combined with a source of protein. The coffee maker has called out the incomplete yet multi-benefit collagen to bump up the protein in its two products, where instead of a gram of protein per serving, you get 10g. The carbohydrates, sugar, and fat remain much the same, with the calories jumping in line with the protein.
It would have been nice to see a more complete and quality source of protein in the Moccana’s Latte +Protein and Caramel Latte +Protein, especially since it’s just got “protein” in the name and not collagen to identify the source. Either way, the protein-infused offerings are out now and available in the brand’s key markets in a small 160g tin, which is enough for about eight servings
