Intico adds to its arsenal of protein snacks with the light and crunchy Protein Wafer

Intico Protein Wafer

Chinese brand Intico is mostly known for its convenient protein bars, as you may have noticed from the handful of features it’s had here at Stack3d. Most of those have been about extensions to the menus of its already available functional foods, but it is no stranger to stepping out of its comfort zone and doing something new. Intico does occasionally come out with completely new foods and snacks, and we’ve got a bit of that this week by way of Intico Protein Wafers.

The difference with the latest edible offering from Intico is indeed called out right in its name, as it is a light and crispy wafer-style protein bar, or technically a square. Instead of going for the traditional long tube or bar, the brand has made Protein Wafer square, more like classic wafers, with three crunchy layers, and in between them is a smooth, flavorful cream. The protein isn’t all that high at 8g per piece, although in saying that, the snack itself is not heavy at about 22g.

For a 22g food, the 8g of protein in Intico’s Protein Wafer is rather impressive, and it’s kept the other numbers on the lighter side, including less than a gram of sugar. The product is out now in China, and when it comes to flavors, there are two to choose from to start, both traditional in a rich Chocolate Cream and then the lighter and softer Vanilla Cream.
