David shook up the frozen dessert category when it finally launched its long-awaited Protein Ice Cream, carrying over the same disruptive philosophy as its hit protein bar. Every pint packs 30g of whey-powered protein, only 2g or less of sugar, and between 210 and 260 calories depending on the flavor. It debuted in four mouthwatering flavors with Vanilla Bean, Triple Chocolate, Triple Peanut Butter, and Cookie Dough, and all feature the innovative EPG fat technology.
Demand proved every bit as strong as expected, with David selling out of its entire first run in only 28 minutes. Now, the brand’s highly anticipated retail rollout is underway, with pints arriving at the big box retailer Target for a far more attractive $7.99 for the same pint-sized pot and in all of the same delicious flavors. That is almost half the price of the $15 David sells the functional food for through its own online store, and not far off a mainstream sugar-filled ice cream.
