Mars Xtra Choc Protein Bar packing more chocolate and less calories

Mars Xtra Choc Protein Bar

The Mars candy company has released a limited edition sequel to its first entry into the world of protein with the Mars Protein Bar. The brand’s new release is called the Mars Xtra Choc Protein Bar, combining the original concept with an extra layer of chocolate flavored caramel.

The Mars Xtra Choc Protein Bar was previewed earlier this month, although we’re throwing it back in the spotlight today as we now have all of the details we were previously missing. The product is also now out and available, so we can direct you to some of the places you can pick it up.

Nutrition profile

Not too surprisingly, the macros and ingredients in the new Mars Xtra Choc Protein Bar are about the same as the original Mars protein snack. Each 57g bar provides 18.1g of protein, 4.2g of fat (2.7g saturated), 21.8g of carbohydrates with 8.1g of that sugar, and a total of 188 calories.

It is the protein that’s slightly different in the Mars Xtra Choc Protein Bar, as the regular version has about a gram more with 19g per bar. That is the main reason the calories are lower in the Xtra Choc edition, as it sits with 188 calories instead of 200.

Less than £2

Like all of the other protein snacks from the Mars candy company, the new Mars Xtra Choc Protein Bar has been introduced over in the UK. One of the better places to go, to get your hands on it is one of our favorite protein snack retailers, Protein Pick & Mix.

The UK snack retailer has the Xtra Choc Protein Bar available for £2.49, or if you don’t mind purchasing a box of 18, you can save 22% and get them for £1.94 each. Do also keep in mind the product is promoted as a limited edition release suggesting it may not be around for long.
