Oatein launches a high protein bar, its first non-oat based snack

oatein protein bar

The appropriately named oat based UK brand Oatein, currently has three protein products available including a flapjack, cookie, and brownie. It is now preparing to introduce an entirely new item to that list of protein snacks, with something a little more traditional called the Oatein Protein Bar.

What is it

Strangely enough, the all-new Oatein Protein Bar is, in fact, the brand’s first non-oat based supplement. It is a protein-packed snack made using a flour-based recipe, providing 20g of protein per bar from a blend of milk and soy protein.

The product’s other important macros include 23g of carbohydrates with only 1.5g of that sugar, a low 6.1g of fat (3.8g saturated), with a relatively lean total of 203 calories. Those numbers do vary from flavor to flavor, although only by a bit in fat and carbs, as the protein is consistent across all at 20g.

Flavors and launch

Regarding flavors, Oatein has put together quite the selection for its first non-oat based release. The protein bar comes in a total of five different flavors with Peanut Crunch, Dark Choc Brownie, Cookies & Cream, Salted Caramel, and a less traditional taste called White Chocolate & Strawberry.

According to Oatein, while the protein bar is not yet available or listed on its own website, it is already on its way to shelves. The protein snack has been shipped to retailers and distributors, so you can probably expect to see it on UK and European shelves very soon.
