Amazon Key now has the option to have packages left inside your garage

amazon key in garage

A couple of years ago, Amazon introduced a new way for you to have your supplements delivered with Amazon Key. It is a service where you can have the courier delivering your order, place it inside your home so long as you have an Amazon Key Home Kit installed consisting of a Cloud camera and smart lock.

Today Amazon has announced an expansion of that program with Amazon Key for Garage, which is very similar to the original option. The way it works is when the driver arrives at your home they scan the barcode on your package, it then automatically opens your garage door, and they place your order inside.

For the whole thing to work you, there are requirements much like with the regular in-home delivery for Amazon Key. Customers need to have an Amazon Cloud camera and a smart garage hub set up, both of which can be purchased for a combined $124.99 in the retailer’s Key Smart Garage Kit.
