Burger King Brazil is adding scoops of whey protein to its milkshakes for a limited time

Burger King Bk Protein Shake

Protein or extra protein has found its way onto the menus of many major restaurants and food chains, two of the biggest, most recent would be Starbucks and Tim Horton’s, adding impressively high protein beverages just this month. Another notable name that is getting in on the proteinification of everything is Burger, specifically down in Brazil, where health and fitness are huge, and protein snacks, powders, and alternatives and widely available.

Burger King in Brazil has launched the BK Protein Shake in four decadent and delicious flavors with Chocolate, Strawberry, Dulce de Leche, and Crunchy. Basically, it is the chain’s regular milkshake with a scoop of whey protein on top, similar to what you can do at smoothie bars and other shake makers. That does mean that while you get a lot more protein in the BK Protein Shakes, that does come with all of the usual carbohydrates, sugar, and calories.

Just to give you an idea of the nutrition in Burger King’s milkshakes in Brazil, in the Dulce de Leche flavor, you get 102g of carbohydrates, a huge 90g of that is sugar, and 17g of fat for a calorie count of 593. With the whey protein added in, the protein jumps to 24g, with those other macros moving a bit, too. The BK Protein Shakes or added protein powder option is only available for a limited time, starting this month until early November.
