ED has only ever been associated with the energy drink category, and it’s done a great job in its home country of Finland, having a strong presence across the board at convenience stores and major supermarkets. It has gradually grown its stable of flavors with tasty extensions like Sour Apple and Blueberry, and it’s introduced varieties with alternative approaches like zero sugar and higher concentrations of caffeine.
This year, it is time for ED to become more than an energy drink maker, as it is launching its first spin-off that still contains caffeine but is primarily all about improving and enhancing hydration, performance, and recovery. ED Hydrated is an electrolyte-backed beverage, including key minerals like sodium and magnesium, with an infusion of B vitamins, and sticking to its core, there is a solid hit of caffeine at 160mg in a 500ml bottle.
There is some nutrition to the ED Hydrated Energy Drink at 24.5g of carbohydrates, all of which is sugar, leading to a triple-figure calorie count of 105. Basically, Hydrated is an electrolyte-backed energy drink, and it is rolling out in Finland in just one flavor to start with, Blue Raspberry, with expansion expected as it proves popular.
