Lenny & Larry’s takes a candy bar approach in its latest functional food but with over 300 calories

Lenny Larrys Protein Candy Bar

To go with its fresh new logo, Lenny & Larry’s has done similar to what other established protein snacking companies have done and come out with a bar that takes a more candy-style approach. With the rise of Grenade, Barebells, and a few others over the years, we’ve seen competitors innovate to match. The all-new Lenny & Larry’s Protein Candy Bar does precisely that for a brand that is mostly known for its high-calorie Complete Cookie.

As per the name of Lenny & Larry’s latest edible product, the Protein Candy Bar has been developed as a candy bar with extra protein, or a protein bar that tastes close to a candy bar. It comes with a smooth, doughy base filled with crunchy nuts, a gooey, flavorful layer across the top, and all covered in decadent chocolate. It is worth noting that, unlike those top-rated leaders, Barebells and Grenade, the macros on this are not overly lean.

The Lenny & Larry’s Protein Candy Bar has 20g of protein per piece, from soy, although it’s the other numbers that throw off the balance with a huge 37 to 38g of carbohydrates, 15g of that sugar, 14 to 15g of fat, and 320 calories. That is a tough protein-to-calorie ratio, unless of course the product tastes better than any other candy-style protein bar out there. You can find out for yourself through Lenny & Larry’s website, where you can get a box of 12 of the Protein Candy Bar at $30 in two flavors, Chocolate Hazelnut and Peanut Caramel.
